NGA/HOOTERS TOUR COMES BACK TO MISSISSIPPI IN 2007

N. MYRTLE BEACH, SC. (July 13, 2007) - The National Golf Association’s Hooters Professional Golf Tour, presented by Hooters of America and Naturally Fresh Foods, comes back to Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw, Mississippi August 6-12, 2007 for The Pearl River Resort Golf Classic.
“We are honored to have the NGA select Dancing Rabbit Golf Club as a stop on the Hooters Pro Golf Tour for a third year in a row,” explained Donna Brolick, vice president of resort operations. “The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians have created two of the most acclaimed courses in the country and we are looking forward to hosting another great event.”
The NGA Hooters Tour brings the future stars of the PGA to the Philadelphia area for one big week of golf presented by Michelob Ultra with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Boys & Girls Club.
“We are very excited to bring the Hooters Tour back to Philadelphia and Pearl River Resort,” said NGA Hooters Tour President Robin L. Waters. “They have a first class golf course and I expect it to be another first class event again this year.”
Dancing Rabbit consistently rates as one of the best courses in the country. Golf Magazine rates The Azaleas course at number 32 on their list of the top 100 public courses.
Monday Aug. 6, kicks off the opening qualifying round for anyone interested in trying to qualify for the tour.

Defending champion Casey Wittenberg, as well as new comers Blaine Peffley and Martin Flores will be among the 168 golfers vying for the title and the $33,566 first place check.
The NGA/Hooters Tour is the 3rd largest men’s 72-hole professional golf tour in the country behind the PGA and Nationwide Tours, and boasts alumni like 2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson, 2003 PGA Champion Shaun Micheel, 2003 British Open winner Ben Curtis, 2003 US Open winner Jim Furyk, two time U.S. Open winner Lee Janzen, British Open and PGA Champion John Daly, as well as British Open winner Tom Lehman, PGA Champion David Toms, 2003 Tour Championship Winner Chad Campbell, 2004 & 2005 Reno Tahoe Open winner Vaughn Taylor and TPC winner Craig Perks to name just a few.
