Ellis fires three under par 69 to win the Miss. CHOCTAW, Miss. (June 6, 2006) – Kyle Ellis of Senatobia and Clay Homan of Starkville were tied at 13 under par playing the 18th hole at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. Ellis hit his approach to three feet of the pin, with a great birdie opportunity. Homan missed the green to the left. Homan had a delicate chip shot and left his third shot short of the green. Homan makes a double bogey on the 18th hole, but Ellis sunk his three foot birdie putt to claim his first Miss. State Amateur Championship. Trey Denton was the Mike Magee Medalist with a first round score of 65. Complete results are posted in the tournament section at www.missgolf.org.
