Golfweek Magazine Ranks Both
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club Courses as “Best Resort Courses” in the U.S.
Hundreds of Raters Honor the Resort Casino Property in Mississippi for its Azaleas and Oaks Courses
( JACKSON , Mississippi ) – The Mississippi Development Authority today announces that Dancing Rabbit Golf Club at Pearl River Resort continues to collect national acclaim with Golfweek magazine having ranked both Dancing Rabbit courses as two of the nation's best in its “America's Best Resort Courses” (December 2004).
Golfweek employed a team of 350 raters to scour the U.S. while rating the nation's 100 best resort courses. Both courses at Dancing Rabbit – designed by Tom Fazio and Jerry Pate – were included on the esteemed list, with the Azaleas Course checking in at No. 27 and the Oaks Course at No. 34.
Golfweek raters submitted their votes based on a set of course and design quality evaluation criteria including variety, memorability, natural setting, overall land plan, conditioning, feature shaping, and greens complexes.
“The one unifying theme of America 's Best Golf Resorts is that all the resorts acquire greatness by their intimate sense of surroundings. The best resorts envelope you in local culture,” stated Golfweek in its article accompanying the America 's Best Golf Resorts ratings.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by highly respected national publications like Golfweek ,” says Dancing Rabbit Director of Golf Mark Powell.
This is the latest critical distinction for Dancing Rabbit. The Azaleas Course was ranked No. 34 on GOLF Magazine's biennial list of the 100 best public courses in the United States (September 2004).
This latest award establishes Dancing Rabbit as arguably the most celebrated golf facility in the Southeast ( Tennessee , Arkansas , Louisiana , Alabama ).
“Dancing Rabbit continuously rates among the country's best golf-and-resort casino properties and it is indicative of the great golf, gaming and other attractions found in Mississippi ,” says Leland Speed., the MDA's Executive Director.
