Dancing Rabbit Golf Club moves up one spot to #34 in Golf Magazine
ratings
Aug. 30, 2004
CHOCTAW, Miss. – Dancing Rabbit Golf Club
at Pearl River Resort continued its dominant ways on the golf scene
with its recent rating in Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses
You Can Play.”
Golf Magazine announced the club’s climb to the 34th spot
on their biennial list of the best public courses in the United States.
As Dancing Rabbit’s fourth consecutive listing on this coveted
course compilation, the club continues to climb in the rankings.
A Tom Fazio/Jerry Pate design, Dancing Rabbit was initially listed
among the nation’s elite facilities at #63 in Golf Magazine’s
1998 edition, only one year after its opening. In 2000, the club
made one of the biggest jumps in the history of the rankings by leaping
an unprecedented twenty-six places to claim the 37th position. In
2002 the course reached the #35 spot and this year climbed one more
place to #34 of the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.”
“To continue to move up this list is a great honor,” said
Dancing Rabbit’s Director of Golf Mark Powell. “When
you look at the ratings, Dancing Rabbit is only a few spots removed
from the likes of Pebble Beach and Pinehurst, two of the top rated
courses in the world.”
This latest award establishes Dancing Rabbit as the most celebrated
golf facility in not only the state of Mississippi, but also a region
including Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and even golf-rich Alabama.
The Golf Magazine Top 100 Courses lists are the most respected golf
course rankings in the game. The esteemed rating panel consists of
