Dancing Rabbit Golf Club At Pearl River Resort
Rated Among The 25 Best Celebrity Designed U.S. Golf Courses
By Zagat Survey
July 29, 2003
In an article currently listed on ESPN.com, the Zagat Survey lists
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club at Pearl River Resort among its first annual 25
Best Celebrity Designed U.S. Golf Courses. The listing includes “some
of the best celebrity-designed U.S. golf courses from designers Jack Nicklaus,
Arnold Palmer, Pete Dye, Tom Fazio and Robert Trent Jones, Jr.”
Renowned for its consumer-based surveys of restaurants, hotels, nightlife and
shopping, the 25 year old Zagat Survey has published its first guide to golf
courses across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The company’s
trademark burgundy guides have become best sellers with well over 100,000 participants
rating and reviewing restaurants and other attractions in 45 major markets worldwide.
Surveying for the Golf Guide was conducted from May 9th through June 23rd. The
resulting guidebook is expected to be published in November.
Covering over 1,700 top golf courses that are accessible to the public, the survey
asked participants to rate each course on four criteria – Course, Service,
Facilities and Value - using Zagat's signature 30-point scale. Pearl River Resort’s
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club scored in the excellent to perfection range in all categories.
Zagat has applied its unique premise that rating a golf course on the basis of
hundreds or even thousands of experiences is inherently more fair and accurate
than relying on one reviewer and just a few rounds.
Other courses making the grade in this first annual survey include the TPC at
Sawgrass (Stadium Course) and Fazio’s legendary Shadow Creek in Las Vegas,
NV. For a complete listing, visit www.espn.com. For more information about Dancing
